Web Development Process
Step 1: Discover the Requirements

What will determine if a project has been a success for you? Determining these variables is extremely important in defining the product development path. Depending on your type of business, there will always be a number of surface level metrics that you'll be able to use, but the derived metrics will most likely be the ones you're ultimately looking for. We'll work with your team to define them and set practical milestones to help guide our product decisions. We work with all of our clients to determine the website or web application's requirements to create an architectural blueprint. We review all of the following with every client:

  • Your business goals and metrics for the site
  • Competitive analysis of comparable websites
  • Your target audience and customer demographics

Step 2: Identity Development

Chances are that this is a new area of business for you. A fresh start that requires a fresh look and feel. We will create all the necessary assets (videos, logos, photos, tutorials) for you to communicate your new identity to your audience. Your brand will be reflective of your most impressive values. The same assets will be used to guide the content production stage for a continuous look and feel carried throughout your project.

Step 3: Define Information Architecture

Large websites and complex applications require comprehensive information architecture planning prior to starting the development or design phases. We will take everything you currently have and everything that you want to include and propose an organization that is intuitive and can easily be translated into a simple and effective user interface. A well-organized sitemap will set the path for a well-organized site.

Step 4: Prototype or Wireframe the Application

Once we have established the goals and requirements for your site and you are ready to proceed, we will develop wireframes in order to prototype your site. The wireframes inform the static mockup designs through layout, placement, and general functionality, whereas the static mockups inform the user interface in look, feel and execution. You'll be able to walk through your entire site, page by page, instance by instance, before anything is developed. Each set of assets are usually accompanied by a walk-through presentation to explain all the thinking that went behind every pixel.

Step 5: Determine Technologies for Web or Mobile

We will develop your site or application using a variety of technologies including: AJAX, Android, Code Igniter, CSS, Drupal, Facebook, HTML 5, Joomla, jQuery, MySql, Photoshop, Ruby, SQLite, and Wordpress.

Step 6: Create Timelines

Getting your product to market is our number one priority, so we develop milestones to reduce the risks of going past schedule or over budget.

Step 7: Estimates

Lastly, we will create a proposal and submit a bid for your web application or website.
